DadLifting YouTube Channel: Episode 3
Over the weekend, I published my third YouTube video. I didn’t have a numbered list to talk through or much of a topic at all really, but as mentioned in the video, I’m trying to keep the momentum going and force myself to keep putting out videos. I had some training footage and figured I could cobble something together. But even with less of a focus and concept for the video, I focused on how it was an opportunity to try or to improve on a few basic technical skills, notable transitions and voiceover work.
The transitions included a jump from the kitchen into the gym at the beginning of the video. Later, there were a few transitions from one exercise and camera angle to another one. Also, it included about 8 minutes of voiceover commentary over un-impressive training footage from the week. Training footage showed improved form on deficit deadlifts and some decent SSB squats.
Technically, the voiceover was me talking into the voice memo app on my phone, then airdropping it into the computer to include in the timeline of the video content. I think there’s a better way to do it on my computer, but I couldn’t get the microphone to work as an input.
Finally, the into the camera chatter was more unscripted and it felt a little looser than it has to date, which is something I’m trying to improve on. Anyway, much better video planned this week as I kick off the winter Bulk, which you can read about here.
Please drop me a comment below to let me know what aspects of my videos you have enjoyed thus far. I’m very early in the process of finding my voice, but am committed to continuing to put out videos at least a few times a month. Thanks for your support and interest, as always.
