I follow a lot of accounts on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter that are fitness related. This page is a summary of those accounts and some thoughts on their value add. Just spreading the love for these informative and/or entertaining accounts.
Untamed Strength
Alan Thrall has been an inspiration to my lifting, mostly by demystifying strength training while injecting humor along the way. He also provided the simple step by step guide I used to build my deadlift platform. His website is here, click on the picture to visit his channel on YouTube.
Barbell Medicine
In terms of programming and knowledge, there is no better source for the kind of strength training I am pursuing these days. Jordan is also great on Instagram where he does live Q&A sessions from time to time. But these two doctors put out great content and are the real deal. Their website has an extensive and well-moderated forum as well as many articles and programs to purchase.
VitruvianPhysique
Igor has a YouTube channel where he offers lots of good information on bodybuilding, bulking, cutting, etc. Also, he’s pretty entertaining. I think he sells programs and offers online coaching at his website, but I haven’t used them before.
Athlean-X (Jeff Cavaliere)
One of the most popular channels on YouTube about fitness. Jeff is an expert in athletic strength training. He is an expert in variations on variations of traditional movements like planks, pull-ups, pushups, curls, dips, whatever. He tries some humor too, but most of that stuff falls flat. Sells many programs, I’ve used the standard program, it definitely works for getting leaner and more athletic, and stronger if you are early in your training life.
Jeff Nippard
Science-based info on bodybuilding and training stuff, minimal personal stuff. Jeff does his research and is very experienced in bodybuilding. Popular channel where he discusses bodybuilding research findings, less vlog stuff. Sells programs and a guide to recomping at his website.
Omar Isuf
Entertaining guy with all sorts of weight lifting content from a guy with average genetics and lots of experience. His honesty and willingness to show bulked states is pretty cool. Plus when I met him he was super engaging and friendly.
Christian Guzman
Mostly a vlogger, but always about his fitness business and lifestyle. He owns an apparel company, drink company and a gym outside Houston, TX. Hosts a popular bodybuilding event every year.
Brian Alsruhe
Great source of programming and inspiration. Will write you a custom program, but also has a number of them you can try for free at YouTube. He is a strongman competitor, great coach, and motivator who runs NeverSate Athletics in Maryland. Awesome WOD daily at his website.
Scott Herman
Your basic Massachusetts born gym bro, who was early to YouTube and very successful at gaining followers. He is pretty entertaining, lives in Florida and has a sick home gym.
Szat Strength
A national champion Strongman right in my backyard, Joey Szatmary is a massive guy who is friends with several others on this list. He has some good stuff in his videos, even if his bedside manner isn’t as polished as Omar, Alan or even Alsruhe. He runs the Lions Den in Colmar, PA.
MattDoesFitness
Sponsored fitness guy who puts together eating challenge and other videos that often include entertaining intros featuring his son. Matt is also pretty active on Instagram. This is mostly a lifestyle vlog channel, but he also includes training footage.
Remington James Fitness
Rem is a dude from Ohio who gained a bunch of followers after years of posting helpful meal prep videos. His channel is now more of just a lifestyle blog where he cruises around Houston where he now lives. He works out at Alphalete gym (owned by Guzman above), there is usually some training footage. I like to watch him because he’s got an interesting personality, he’s kind of a clown.
Buff Dudes
Brothers who lift weights and make cool videos about lifting, with some great food prep tip and recipe videos too.
AlphaDestiny
Alex, a one man show that includes Q&A videos, general rant videos and lifting footage. The video production value is more raw than others, and the advice is generally based on anecdotal experiences he’s had himself rather than based on data, but good stuff.
