New YouTube Video: Best Practices for Holiday Interactions

On Thanksgiving night, I posted my 6th YouTube video. This one focused on being tolerant when dealing with relatives this holiday season who may have only a passing interest in fitness and no interest in barbell training.

This messages can carry over to other times when you may come across people who look at you as weird for being neurotic about nutrition and/or lifting heavy weights. I tend to come across those types of people at work more often than anywhere else.

Misconceptions are everywhere and people for the most part are looking to dismiss what you do to achieve your physique. It’s a defense mechanism to justify not getting serious about their own health. As I’ve written about before (click here to read my post on the hierarchy of fitness), doing just a few things in a conscientious way towards your fitness, you can realize huge physique and health benefits. But in dismissing everything fitness related or by assuming it takes tons of hard work, many see their health languish when it otherwise could easily be improved.

My thumbnail for this week's episode on being tolerant to those doing other fitness or diet things than you.

Over the years, I’ve learned hacks and short cuts when it comes to fitness. Much of them go against general mainstream knowledge you just sort of pick up. Cardio isn’t necessary for weight loss, eating all the time doesn’t “kick start” your metabolism. On the other hand, fasting is not a panacea for all that is wrong with your diet.

Over time, I’ve learned there are easier ways to achieve physique goals. The problem is I learned that much later than I would have liked to. Now my physique goals are different. Such is life and the nature of wisdom, always in a race to gain it in time to use it. This is true in business, relationships and fitness.

Anyway, enjoy the video, I enjoyed making it! Also, like the video and subscribe to my channel here.
