New Video: DadLifting Home Alone
I filmed a new video and posted it to YouTube this Memorial Day weekend, click here to watch it. I got a treat Thursday and Friday, when my wife took the kids for a couple days away after a solid 9-10 weeks of the family being under one roof for the most part.
Perfect Day
I took the opportunity to have my own version of Ferris Bueller’s day off. As someone who’s been married for 15+ years, with 3 kids, I am a man who enjoys simple pleasures. Those include no time limit in the gym, a kitchen to myself and a cigar at the end of the day. So my “day off” included:
- 2 separate workouts
- 400mm lunges
- Cooking
- Eating
- Smoking cigar
- Work from home
Murph Workout
The second workout was the CrossFit hero workout “Murph” that many fitness folks like to do on Memorial Day. I got it done in less than 46min (with no weight vest) and got to run the last mile outside in the rain. Footage of all that is in the video as well.
If you haven’t had any time off from your family, it can do wonders to get a break. If that’s not physically possible because you don’t have a vacation home or relative’s house to sneak away to, then maybe organize some separation time while under the same roof.
Break: Would Recommend
Mental health is more important than ever with people losing their jobs and with lingering uncertainty about when the more complex pleasures in life will be available again.
Anyway, enjoy the video, it incorporates some elements of Home Alone and Ferris Beuller’s Day Off. Just be glad I didn’t try to recreate the sliding across the floor in my underwear scene from Risky Business. Have a great week.
