Recipe: Anabolic Scones

I’ve written and made videos about Ethan Harold’s series of anabolic puffs recipes. I also made a savory puffs version of my own (see that video here).

In discussing those puff recipes with another creator in DMs on Instagram, I lamented how great it would be to have a puffs recipe that didn’t require me to blend bread or even use a blender at all, given the hassle of getting bread at the store and the hassle of cleaning up the blender.

This fellow creator, Alex, came up with a solution that worked great. You just mix up the ingredients by hand and pop them in the oven.

We came up with the idea of doing a collaboration video to release the recipe. He did a sweet version and I did a savory one. Mine was ham and cheese. You can find that recipe in the video here.

But here I’ll share the recipe for my version of sweet blueberry scones.

Ingredients:

  • 70g flour
  • 25g coconut flour
  • 200g egg whites
  • 4g baking powder
  • 3g xanthan gum
  • 40g vanilla whey protein powder
  • 50g frozen blueberries
  • 50g blueberry syrup from Walden Farms
  • 10g Splenda
  • Add oat fiber for extra volume

Mix all of that together without the blueberries, then put them in six blobs on a pan and then place blueberries on top. Then cook for 16-20minutes at 325 degrees. Enjoy!
