New Fitness Video: Dadathon

This week, I posted a new video at my YouTube channel, let me tell you a little about it. The video is a 5 minute recap of the big fitness challenge I created for myself to celebrate my 39th birthday a few weeks back.

A few nights before my birthday, I dreamed up this challenge that would include a number of events spread out across the day all having to do with the number 39.

The challenge included 8 events:

  • 3.9 miles jog
  • 3,900m rowing machine
  • 390lbs deadlift
  • 39 pull ups
  • 390 pushups, walking lunges, crunches
  • 390 seconds jumping rope

The challenge was supposed to include me eating 3,900 calories too, but I wasn’t able to get above 3,000 calories. I had been in a significant calorie deficit heading into the day, with daily calories around 1,800, so I was really full on 3,000.

If I were serious about the eating part of the challenge, I would have eaten more calorie dense foods. Instead, I cooked a few recipes from videos I watched on Remington James’s channel, including this “pizookie” birthday cake.

While it was really fun, the challenge was not well thought out, totally spur of the moment. I definitely plan to create a new challenge well in advance of my birthday next year. Comment below with any ideas for my 40th next year.

I talked more about the Dadathon in my weekly recap post a few weeks ago, read more about it here.

I’ll be back with more fitness videos as I come up with ideas and do things. Thanks! Keep it on the DL…
